چکیده

Abstract. Land-surface models (LSMs) typically simulate a single crop per year in field or location. However, actual cropping systems are characterized by succession of distinct cycles that sometimes interspersed with long periods bare soil. Sequential (also known as multiple double cropping) is particularly common tropical regions, where the seasons largely dictated main wet season. In this paper, we implement sequential branch Joint UK Land Environment Simulator (JULES) and demonstrate its use at sites France India. We all crops grown within location seamless way to understand how influences surface fluxes land-surface model. evaluate JULES Avignon, France, providing over 15 years continuous flux observations (a point simulation). apply rice–wheat rotation regional 25 km resolution gridded simulation for northern Indian states Uttar Pradesh Bihar four single-grid-box simulations across these states, each grid box. Incorporating Anthropogenic Water Regulation Modules into a Land Surface Model

Anthropogenic activities have been significantly perturbing global freshwater flows and groundwater reserves. Despite numerous advances in the development of land surface models (LSMs) and global terrestrial hydrological models (GHMs), relatively few studies have attempted to simulate the impacts of anthropogenic activities on the terrestrial water cycle using the framework of LSMs. From the co...

Evaluating of VIC-3L Land Surface Model for Simulation of Stream Flow of Gharesou watershed

Land-surface models are widely used to simulate and predict the movement of momentum, energy, and matter between the biosphere and the atmosphere at local, regional and global scales. In this study, in order to evaluate the performance of this model in daily simulation of discharge in Gharesou watershed, using a spatial resolution of 0.125 degrees, satellite imagery and global databases to prov...

Impact of urban land cover change on land surface temperature

The rapid growth in urban population is seen to create a need for the development of more urban infrastructures. In order to meet this need, natural surfaces such as vegetation are been replaced with non-vegetated surfaces such as asphalt and bricks which has the ability to absorb heat and release it later. This change in land cover is seen to increase the land surface temperature. Previous stu...

Assimilation of Freeze–Thaw Observations into the NASA Catchment Land Surface Model

The land surface freeze-thaw (F/T) state plays a key role in the hydrological and carbon cycles and thus affects water and energy exchanges and vegetation productivity at the land surface. In this study, an F/T assimilation algorithm was developed for the NA SA G oddard E arth Observing System, version 5 (GEOS-5), modeling and assimilation framework. The algorithm includes a newly developed obs...
